Kids Modem (pl.ayground.kidsmodem) on Google Play
This is an app supporting an educational game for kids - a game that show how modem operates and what digital information transmission is all about. This simple game will also show what bit is and how binary system operates. All in one simple screen full of squares you can set to either filled in (1) or empty (0).You need two tablets to play this game - one for sending side, one for receiving side.1) Sender prepares a binary image on his/her tablet. All the images are of course simplistic because of the board sizes. But thanks to that they are also easy to transmit.2) When both sides are ready one is sending the image "bit by bit" or "pixel by pixel" using an agreed signal. It can be a "teee" sound for filled on and "toooooo" for empty, or hand gestures, or clapping ... whatever suits your kid best. 3) Receiving side is marking boxes one by one (it may help to provide a signal for "end of row") and when all bits are transferred the image is revealed.I learned about this game in primary school we visited with our kids and they liked this game a lot. After using 50+ pages of A4 paper I decided to write this simple app for my kids. Hope someone else will like it as well.PS. I will possibly add some predefined images at a later date, do not hesitate to send me a screenshot with your proposal for both small and large board. Thanks in advance.
